Police make another arrest in Ambelokipi bomb case

Police have made another arrest in relation to last month's explosion in the central Athens neighborhood of Ambelokipi in which a suspected bombmaker was killed.

Initial reports say the arrested individual is a 26-year-old man, whose fingerprint was found on the same bag as that of Nikos Romanos, who was remanded in custody in relation to the incident on Friday.

Both fingerprints were found on "Exhibit 2," a blue-black bag with white drawstrings located inside the apartment which contained a pistol. 

Romanos' prints were found on the outside of the bag, and the 26 year old's on the inside.

Sources say that the 26-year-old man's fingerprint was in the police's database from an incident of petty theft. He is also facing trial in connection with the assault by a group of youths on the rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business in October 2020...
