Severe weather expected to hit Greece starting Friday night

According to a bulletin from the National Meteorological Service (EMY), a low-pressure system in the Ionian Sea is gradually moving eastward, leading to a deterioration in weather conditions. This weather front has been named Bora.

The storm is set to begin late Friday night, bringing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. The adverse weather will continue throughout the weekend, with conditions expected to worsen by Monday.

In addition to the rain and storms, strong and locally gale-force winds will affect the country. In the mountainous regions of Macedonia and Epirus, heavy snowfall is expected, further exacerbating conditions in these areas.
