The unveiling of the Venizelos station in Thessaloniki Metro: 3,500 sq.m. of Archaeological finds (video-photos)

Only a few hours remain now for the inauguration of the Thessaloniki Metro. The unveiling of the iconic “Venizelos” station took place earlier on Friday.

The first visitors were the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, whom the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni toured the archaeological site and the findings of the excavations, which have been the “apple of discord” for years and the subject of legal appeals.

At Venizelos station, visitors and passengers will be able to see the unique 3,500 sq.m. of archaeological findings and “travel” to the commercial center of the city as it was in Roman and Byzantine times.
