No progress in Greece-Turkey talks

The Greek government has decided that progress in resolving differences with Turkey over maritime zones and the two countries' continental shelf in the Aegean Sea is all but impossible. It has thus shifted its priorities back to maintaining contacts and engaging in lower-level talks.

Of those, there will be plenty in the coming days. On Monday, Air Force Chief of Staff Panagiotis Georgakopoulos will visit a Turkish air base. On Monday and Tuesday, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozay, his Greek counterpart, Alexandra Papadopoulou, and Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Kostas Fragogiannis, will engage in political talks and the so-called "positive agenda" that involves economic cooperation and trade.
