Cost of production in Greece seen rising
The economic sentiment index in Greece closed with a drop in November, as did the manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI), while the slight improvement in the consumer confidence index in no way means that Greeks are not still the most pessimistic people in the European Union or that they stopped worrying about the high market prices.
Moreover, the assessment made by S&P Global, which compiles the PMI index, in relation to production costs is extremely alarming. "The outlook for purchase prices is less favorable, as an overall increase in costs is expected next year, after the pressures subside in 2024," said Sian Jones, chief economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
