Mitsotakis arrives at No 10 for meeting with Starmer
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived at Downing Street on Tuesday for a meeting with British counterpart Keir Starmer, their first since the latter was elected earlier this year.
The talks are being held "at a critical geopolitical juncture for the West and amid escalation in Ukraine," according to a statement from Mitsotakis' office.
The two leaders will discuss strengthening bilateral ties, with a focus on investments and tourism, reflecting the enduring significance of UK-Greece relations.
According to Mitsotakis' office, he will address the return of the Parthenon Sculptures arguing that, first, the monument itself must be reunited, and second, the Acropolis Museum was built exactly for the reunification of the monument. The museum is not just the ideal place for the Sculptures, but "their natural space."
