Officer faces heinous abuse charges

A police officer formerly stationed at Greece's Parliament is embroiled in disturbing allegations, including sexual abuse and rape, as well as a financial investigation into possible illicit activities.

The officer, accused of heinous crimes against his children, was jailed following a five-hour testimony. Despite denying the charges, including serial child rape and incest, the court was not persuaded by his defense.

His wife, also a police officer, has been a central witness in the case, claiming prolonged abuse within the household in Koropi in eastern Attica. Psychologists and psychiatrists who previously evaluated the officer and his wife are now under review, as authorities examine potential oversight in identifying warning signs.
