Greek engineer among victims of apartment collapse in The Hague

A 44-year-old civil engineer with dual Greek and Albanian citizenship, father of three, was among the six people who lost their lives in an apartment collapse in The Hague following an explosion last Saturday.

According to the NL Times, Vikel Kamberaj had been living in the Netherlands for over two years, having moved from Greece in 2022 in search of a better life for his family. He is survived by his wife and their three children, who are 7 months, 6 years, and 10 years old.

His wife shared that Kamberaj was "in love with the Netherlands" and had been trying to convince her to relocate there with the family. "I hold no hatred for anyone, but I just want to know the truth. My children deserve to know what happened to their father," she said.
