Tsiaras announces bill to address nonperforming agricultural loans

Minister of Rural Development and Food Kostas Tsiaras announced during the discussion of the 2025 state budget on Friday that there will be a bill providing for the regulation of nonperforming agricultural loans.

Tsiaras spoke about the effort to solve the problem, which "concerns 21,000 farmers and more than 750 agricultural cooperatives, the members of whose administrations have their assets seized."

"And in this way, we are trying to give a real boost to a part of the agricultural world, freeing it from burdens and obligations that come from the past," he said.
