Lockdown inspired startups

The Covid pandemic lockdowns brought inspiration and creativity to many aspiring young entrepreneurs, whose ideas, four to five years later, have attracted the interest of Greek and foreign investors.

Approximately eight out of 10 Greek or Greek-owned startups that secured funding this year were established shortly before or during the pandemic, with 50% of those that raised funds being in the early stages of development. These findings are presented, among others, in the annual report on "Startups in Greece 2024-2025," compiled by the Found.ation team in collaboration with EIT Digital and with the support of the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments.
