Greece submits fifth RRF request for €3.1 billion

Greece on Friday submitted its fifth request to the European Commission for a disbursement under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), amounting to 3.1 billion euros.

It was made by Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis and is a simultaneous request for grants and loans, which concerns 32 milestones and objectives. Greece requested the disbursement of €1.3 billion in grants after reaching 29 milestones and €1.8 billion in loans through three milestones, after adjustment in order to finance the two new housing programs, totaling €1.3 billion of RRF funds.

To date, Greece has successfully completed four disbursement requests and the total amount of disbursements to Greece of RRF funds is €18.2 billion. This amount exceeds 50% of the total budget of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan "Greece 2.0."
