Unstable weather expected across Greece during Christmas holidays

According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), rain, thunderstorms, low temperatures and snowfall are expected to affect many regions across the country during the Christmas holidays.

Local rains are anticipated in the western regions, the eastern islands, eastern Macedonia and Thrace, on Sunday. Isolated thunderstorms are likely during the afternoon and evening hours over Crete, the eastern Aegean islands, and the Dodecanese.

Light snowfall is expected in the northern mountainous areas.

Temperatures will range from 8-12 degrees Celsius in the north, 13-15 degrees Celsius  in most other areas and up to 16-17 degrees Celsius locally in the south. Frost is expected in parts of northern mainland Greece during the morning and evening hours.
