Arrests in Athens and Thessaloniki in operation against Turkish mafia

Police have made three arrests as part of a coordinated parallel operation against the Turkish mafia in Athens and Thessaloniki.

In Athens, officers from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DAOE) conducted searches in three houses in the center of Athens, during which 11 people were detained.

Of those 11 individuals, three were subsequently arrested and charged with violations of the drugs and immigration laws.

As part of the same operation, officers inspected a vehicle spare parts store, where they conducted background checks on nine people, 34 vehicles and various spare parts and accessories.

In Thessaloniki, officers raided five houses, making nine arrests.

The arrested individuals were later led before a prosecutor.
