Armed robbers hold up elderly couple in Vari

An elderly couple were robbed at gunpoint on Friday night, when five people entered their home in the southern Athenian suburb of Vari and stole money and valuables.

The perpetrators, who wore masks, broke into the house on Paleon Athinon Street where a 69-year-old woman and her 71-year-old husband live at around 9.30 p.m. and stole 3,000 euros, two watches and jewelry of unknown value.

The perpetrators fled immediately after the theft and remain at large.
