ATHEX: Monthly rise of 4.5 percent for benchmark
The benchmark of the Greek stock market chalked up monthly gains of 4.53 percent in October, after Monday's session saw the majority of stocks swing from red in the morning to green in the afternoon, despite the negative mood on most other European bourses due to concerns over the US presidential race.
Man kills friend in freak hunting accident
A man was fatally shot in the chest on Sunday by a 57-year-old friend who mistook him for a wild boar during a hunting trip in the region of Ioannina, northwestern Greece.
The 32-year-old victim was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The 57-year-old faces manslaughter charges.
