Man who threw acid at 3-year-old nephew gets nine years in jail
A man who threw acid at his 3-year-old nephew was sentenced to nine years in jail by Istanbul court on Dec. 1, Doğan News Agency reported.
Marketing executive Cihan Araçman, 33, was arrested on Oct. 23 after confessing that he threw acid over the son of his sister-in-law, reportedly out of "jealousy."
Italian coach Stramaccioni leaves Panathinaikos
The Greek Cup loss to second-division OFI Crete on Wednesday was the final straw for Panathinaikos that forced Italian manager Andrea Stramaccioni to tender his resignation on Thursday, confirmed by a club statement. The Greens are now in talks with former Panionios manager Marinos Ouzounidis, according to reports.

The Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, known as Stegi, is hosting its 6th Greek Jazz Panorama on December 2, 3 and 4. Taking part in the three-day event are local and foreign artists including pianists George Kontrafouris, Nikos Anadolis, Aki Rissanen and Spyros Manesis, bassist Joao Hasselberg and percussionist Kaspars Kurdeko. Performances start at 9 p.m.
AKP, MHP agree on presidential system
The leaders of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have agreed to submit a charter draft, which grants more executive powers to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to parliament next week, after the two leaders reviewed the text in a meeting on Dec. 1.
