BELGRADE - Serbia has made good progress in recent years in reforming its financial management and public sector in ways that have helped to rekindle economic growth, Subhash Garg of the World Bank said after a visit to Serbia.

Boeing and Turkish Aerospace Industries have announced a contract extension to produce the Elevator for the 787 Dreamliner. 

The agreement between Boeing and TAI extends TAI production of a crucial flight control component of 787, according to a statement issued on March 30. 

Kosovo in 2016 held the fewest war crime trials since 2000, meaning that criminals are evading prosecution and the chance of justice for victims is fading, warned the Humanitarian Law Centre Kosovo.

Turkey's Economic Confidence Index improved for the second straight month in March, rising 5 percent to 96.1, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed on March 30.

The increase in economic confidence index stemmed from the increase in construction, services, consumer and real sector confidence indices, according to TÜİK data. 

There has been a 10% decrease in registered crimes in 2016, compared to the previous year, announced the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs, reported BGNES.

Last year, a total of 22,292 crimes were registered on the territory of Sofia, compared to 24,551 in 2015. Solved crimes in 2016 were 8,180.

Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) said in a statement on March 30 that it plans to open its 10th plant in Turkey, in the southern province of Isparta, with a 110 million Turkish Lira ($30.1 million) investment. 

The plant is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2017, according to the statement.

President of the European Council Donald Tusk personally congratulated Boyko Borisov for winning the elections against the socialist on Sunday, the press centre of GERB announced.

The two spoke during the European People's Party (EPP) congress in Malta.

A memorial commemorating 1,484 Jews from Kavala who perished in Nazi death camps in World War II, was targeted by vandals on Wednesday night, local media reported.

The vandals appear to have used hammers to smash the marble coating on the memorial, which was erected about a year ago in the northern Greek town.
