EU Needs Clarity From UK Over Brexit Positions: Juncker

The European Union (EU) still needs more details about the UK's positions on Brexit before discussions can begin on a future trading relationship, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said.

"We cannot talk about the future without any real clarity," Mr Juncker said in a hearing on Tuesday at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.

MEPs to Vote in Motion on Brexit Talks Progress Today

The European Parliament will today debate and vote on a motion which states that the required "sufficient progress" has not yet been made for talks on a post-Brexit trade deal to begin.

Britain had hoped to have advanced enough for EU leaders to green light trade discussions this month.

The referendum, which is not recognized by Madrid, was marked by unrest.

Bulgaria Now Has New Border Checkpoint With Romania

Bulgaria's Premier Boyko Borissov  and Romania's Premier Mihai Tudose unveiled near the Dunabe town of Silistra the new border checkpoints Kaynardzha which was negotiated in a bilateral agreement back in 2012.

An intergovernmental agreement between Bulgaria and Romania for joint border control has been in force since 2007.

Representatives of the largest chain of French state hospitals are on a visit to Bulgaria to explore the possibilities of building a pediatric hospital according to their model.

Music Legend Tom Petty Dies

American rock legend Tom Petty died early this morning. He had a heart attack a few days before his birthday. On October 20, he would have been 67 years old.

The news was confirmed by his manager Tony Dimitriadis.

Dacic about Kosovo and UNESCO: "Let them try"

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says Pristina has not applied for UNESCO membership because they are not certain of sufficient support.

"Their interpretation is that they can file the request at the General Conference itself, because the last time their request passed in the Executive Committee. That's such a mess. Let them try? I'm not provoking anyone," Dacic told RTS.
