The eurozone tried on Friday to contain Greek government rhetoric on suspending upcoming pension cuts, saying that any discussions on that matter are premature, and sending a clear message that Athens should not reverse reforms, particularly in the field of labor.

Eight Hurt in Blast, Blaze at German Refinery

Yahoo News - A fire erupted Saturday at a refinery in southern Germany following an explosion, injuring at least eight people and forcing authorities to evacuate almost 2,000 local residents, police said.

The explosion took place at around 5:30 am (0330 GMT) in a site owned by the Bayernoil group near the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt, on the banks of the Danube river.

Bulgaria Sees Fiscal Surplus at 2.4%/GDP at End-August

SOFIA: Bulgaria expects to post a fiscal surplus of 2.4 percent of gross domestic product on a cash basis at the end of August, the Finance Ministry said on Friday.

It said the Balkan country's consolidated fiscal programme recorded a surplus of 2.0 billion levs, or 1.9 percent of GDP, in the first seven months of 2018, mainly due to improved tax collection.

Plane Skids off Runway, Leaves at Least 18 Injured at Sochi Airport

Euronews - A plane skidded off the runway at Sochi's airport and caught fire, an airport spokesperson told Russian news agency TASS on Saturday.

The aircraft, which was coming from Moscow, was carrying 164 passengers and six crew members.

Floros heading back to prison after Friday night arrest

An emergency council of appeals court judges in the Evia town of Halkida ordered the arrest late on Friday night of jailed embezzler Aristides Floros after a summons from a Supreme Court prosecutor in Athens calling for a complete re-examination of the medical documentation the convict submitted to secure his release just 36 months into his 21-year sentence.
