Mitsotakis affirms Greece is back open for business

Essentially picking up from where he left off before the pandemic, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis this week resumed the effort to lure investments to Greece, buoyed by the credibility it has gained from its handling of the health crisis.

TUI halts foreign holidays from Britain till July 1

Travel operator TUI has canceled all foreign holidays for British tourists until July 1 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sending shares in the German group down 6% on Friday.

BC Partners lands Forthnet deal

The deal for the acquisition of a 33% stake in Forthnet between the BC Partners investment group and the creditor banks of the Greek telecommunications company was all but sealed on Friday, with the only issue still pending being the bridge funding of 15 million euros from the British group to Forthnet for the period until the acquisition is approved by the competition authorities.

Athens cadastre goes online on Monday

As of Monday, the Hellenic Land Registry website www.ktimanet.gr is to start posting cadastral data for the Municipality of Athens. Authorities are calling on more than half a million citizens who have declared ownership of properties within the municipality to check the accuracy of the data recorded ahead of its finalization.

Domestic flights to resume from June 1

Turkey on May 30 announced the resumption of domestic flights as the country eases coronavirus restrictions and looks to restore normalcy.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said domestic flights will resume on June 1 as part of the normalization process after the months-long virus restrictions.

Migration Ministry rebuffs critical report, silent on issues

The Migration Ministry said Friday that it had "no knowledge" of a report by an international organization castigating its policy on and handling of migration, responding to a news story published in Kathimerini, though it failed to respond to the issues raised in the document.

Lamda to assume controlling stake in Flisvos Marina

The governing board of listed firm Lamda Development has decided to partially revise the allocation of the funds it raised in a recent 650-million-euro share capital increase.
It will now use €12.4 million to acquire a stake in Lamda Marinas Investments SMSA, the company that controls and manages Flisvos Marina at Palaio Faliro in southern Athens.
