Banks’ boost their income in January-March
The combined profit of Turkey's banks increased from 16.4 billion Turkish Liras in January-March 2021 to 63.2 billion liras in the first quarter of this year, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) has said.
That corresponded to a whooping 295 percent increase in the industry's profit on an annual basis.
Willem Dafoe to receive honorary UW-Milwaukee doctorate
Actor Willem Dafoe is set to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next month.
University officials announced Friday that Dafoe will receive the doctorate of arts on May 22. He's slated to speak at the school's two graduation ceremonies that day. He'll receive the degree during the second ceremony of the day.

World’s highest-paid model Jenner to visit Bodrum in summer
American model and media personality Kendall Jenner will be visiting Turkey's world-renowned tourism hub Bodrum for a three-day business trip this summer.
According to daily Milliyet, she will go before the cameras to shoot photos for a bathing suit company on the first two days of her trip. On the third day, she will visit the secluded bays of the Aegean tourism hotspot by boat.

The camping sites in Istanbul, which offer an alternative vacation in tents with "fair prices," have become a new trend in the metropolis, with people flocking to the sites in the districts of Şile, Çatalca and Sarıyer.
"The occupancy rate of the camping sites in Istanbul has reached 80 percent for the Eid holiday next week," Demirören News Agency reported on April 29.
