Police crack down on human trafficking ring

Police have launched a crackdown on an organized crime group involved in human trafficking and document forgery across various regions in Greece.

So far, the operation involving approximately 200 police officers in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Ilia in the Peloponnese has led to the arrest of 36 suspects.

Thessaloniki police investigate alleged attack on EPAL teacher

Police are investigating an alleged attack on a teacher at a vocational high school (EPAL) in Thessaloniki, northern Greece.

The teacher reported that two young men, who may be out-of-school youths, broke into her classroom while she was teaching. When she asked them to leave, they kicked the door, causing her to sustain injuries to her abdomen.

Every 10th Resident of France is an Immigrant

A tenth of people who lived in France in 2021 were born abroad, the national statistics agency INSEE said in its first survey on immigration in a decade, AFP reported.

Almost seven million people, or 10.3 percent of all people in France this year, are immigrants, meaning "born as a foreigner in a foreign country," it said.
