Middle East on edge after Haniyeh killed in Israeli attack

Hamas' political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli strike in Iran on Wednesday, escalating tensions in the Middle East and prompted heightened global concern.

Hamas vowed the act "will not go unanswered," as its armed wing said Wednesday that the killing of its political leader takes the war with Israel to a "new levels," warning of repercussions for the entire region.

Albanian court delays hearing for jailed MEP Beleri

An Albanian court on Wednesday postponed the hearing for jailed MEP Fredi Beleri's request for conditional release until September 2.

Beleri's request for release, having served two-thirds of his sentence, has been previously delayed because the prison director failed to provide the court with the ethnic Greek politician's criminal record. 

Dinar-to-euro exchange rate at RSD 117.0553

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar's official median exchange rate against the euro is 117.0553 dinars for one euro on Wednesday, which is a slight change from Tuesday, the National Bank of Serbia said.

The dinar is steady against the euro m-o-m, up by 0.1 pct y-o-y and up by 0.1 pct relative to the beginning of the year.

The ‘Zionist barbarism’ will not achieve its goals: Erdoğan

 President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday condemned the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran as "treacherous" and said the zionist barbarism once again will fail to reach its goals.

"This assassination aims to undermine the noble resistance of Gaza and the righteous struggle of Palestinians," Erdoğan said in a statement on X.

Google expands AI-powered fire tracking to Greece
