Bulgaria Introduces Limits on Driving Exam Attempts

Starting this December, new regulations for aspiring drivers in Bulgaria will allow them up to four attempts to pass both the theory and practical driving exams. If candidates fail to pass within these attempts, they will be required to restart their driving courses.

EODY reports eight more deaths from West Nile virus, 25 in total

According to the Hellenic National Public Health Organization (EODY), eight more deaths from the West Nile virus occurred between September 4 and 11, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 25.

All the patients who died were over 60 years old, with the median age of the deceased being 80 years.

Vlajic: 30-day house arrest for Serb youths arrested in northern K Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Pristina's basic court in northern Kosovska Mitrovica has placed four young Serb men arrested on Tuesday for an alleged attack on an officer on duty in 30-day house arrest, attorney Nebojsa Vlajic told Tanjug on Wednesday evening.

Vlajic said the accused could be only partly satisfied with the court's decision.

Lawyer in domestic abuse case granted conditional release

Three months after he was remanded in custody on charges of assaulting his wife, prominent criminal lawyer Apostolos Lytras has been granted conditional release.

Court officials decided on the move after a prosecutor recommended that Lytras face misdemeanor, not criminal, charges for the alleged abuse of his wife, fellow attorney Sofia Polyzogopoulou.

Construction costs continue to rise but at slower pace

The annual increase in the headline construction cost index eased from 66.1 percent in June to 46.4 percent in July, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.

On an annual basis, the index fell for a second month in a row in July.

The month-on-month increase in the cost index, however, accelerated from 0.4 percent to 1.9 percent.

Türkiye’s current account surplus rises to $566 mln in July

Türkiye's current account balance posts a surplus for the second month in a row in July, data from the Central Bank have shown.

The current account surplus increased from $330 million in June to $566 million in July.
