Romania's new automotive sales up 6.3 pct in Q1

Romania's new automotive sales were up 6.3 pct in Q1 2019 compared to the same period last year, standing at 38,253 units, the Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers (APIA) said in release on Tuesday. The market analysis shows that domestic sales are further mainly supported by legal entities that account for 72 pct of the total car purchases in the first three months of 2019.

Romania Offers Incentives to 'Greener' Car Buyers

In a bid to boost sluggish sales in the country, the Romanian government is to announce a 16.6-million-euro programme of incentives to encourage people to buy new electric and hybrid cars. 

The money is to be offered as a subsidy to companies or individuals who purchase an electric car or a hybrid vehicle that produce fewer than 50 grammes per kilometre of carbon dioxide emissions.

Seven cars having arrived directly from Frankfurt will be on display for the first time in Romania at the 13th Bucharest Auto Show & Accessories (SAB&Accesorii 2015) to take place over October 1-11 at Romaero Baneasa aerospace company, on a 4,000-square meter area.
