Lebanon's Hezbollah group claimed Tuesday it targeted two positions in Tel Aviv's suburbs, including an intelligence base, and a naval base near Haifa, as Israel intensified its offensive in Lebanon.

Hezbollah said it had fired a ballistic missile at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Wednesday, with Israel launching more air strikes on Lebanon after its military intercepted the unprecedented launch.

Israeli air strikes on Lebanon killed at least 492 people on Monday, including 35 children, the health ministry said, marking the deadliest day of cross-border violence since the Gaza war began.

Arab states strongly condemned Israel for the escalating hostilities with Hezbollah, which have intensified to levels unseen in nearly a year.

Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah said Tuesday it launched over 100 rockets at Israeli military positions in retaliation for a strike on the country's east that killed one person the day before.

Hezbollah, the Shiite Islamist group, launched a barrage of 60 Katyusha rockets at an Israeli military base in the occupied Golan Heights. The attack comes in response to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah positions in the Baalbek area of the Bekaa Valley, which resulted in the death of two Hezbollah members.
