A fire erupted around 3:00 PM today in a senior care home located in the center of Bankya, Bulgaria, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The blaze engulfed an entire floor of the building, sending thick smoke billowing over the city. Emergency services, including three fire brigade teams, responded to the scene promptly.

Elderly Ukrainian refugees with disabilities, along with Ukrainian children, are being relocated from the town of Bankya to the resort of Saints Constantine and Helena. However, this move will place them much farther from essential medical services and schools.

Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) will organize trips with a special retro train every Saturday in August on the route from Sofia to Bankya and from Bankya to Sofia. The train will run on the occasion of the commemoration of the anniversary of the founding of the Bulgarian State Railways in August 1888 and the celebration of the railwayman's holiday.

Tickets are now available for the adventure trip with Baba Metsa retro train, Bulgaria's railway company BDZ said on May 10, reports BNT. 

The adventure journey with the steam locomotive from Sofia to Bankya will start from Sofia central station at 09:00 on May 18.

Modernization of 14 stations and 6 stops is planned, and those with national funding will be 25, reported NOVA TV. 

Two new stations will be built by the end of 2020. This is the Obelya station in Sofia, which will have connection with the metro and the new Kostenets station.

Two ATMs were blasted last night in Sofia, sega reported. The first machine is located in Bankya, and the other one is located in "Levski" District.

There are currently no data about the amount of money stolen. There is a strong police presence in both places.

Bulgarian State Railways will launch a steam locomotive on June 1, on the occasion of the International Children's Day.

The train will run between the capital city Sofia and the nearby town of Bankya and will leave at 13.30 pm on Sunday from Sofia Central Railway Station.
