Policeman's Plea Bargain Angers Serbia's Waterfront Protesters

Serbia's "Let's not drown Belgrade" civic movement - which was set up to oppose the Belgrade Waterfront construction project - has condemned the decision to allow a policeman to reach a plea bargain with the prosecution over responsibility for controversial demolitions in the city's Savamala district.

Serbian Pride March Awaits PM's Attendance

This year's Pride March in Belgrade kicks off on Sunday at the city's Cvetni Trg [square], from where it will end at Republic Square with an entertainment program.

BELGRADE - Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali and the Minister of the Government of Moscow Sergei Cheremin signed a protocol on the Days of Belgrade event, scheduled to take place in Moscow in 2017, and Mali said that the two cities will work together in the spheres of urban planning and public space management and that they can learn much from one another.

BELGRADE - Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali opened the "Days of Moscow in Belgrade" at the Kolarac Foundation Monday evening in the presence of Russian Ambassador Alexander Chepurin and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

Mali noted that "Belgrade will, in the next four days, prove to be an excellent host to friends from Moscow, one of the most beautiful cities in the world".

Belgrade Mayor Faces Probe Into Foreign Directorships

Serbia's Anti-Corruption Agency is to launch an investigation after the journalists' network for investigating crime and corruption, KRIK, claimed that the Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali was director of offshore companies.

The probe will determine whether Mali holds both positions, which would be illegal.
