Studies reveal eating habits of Pergamon people
Skeletons examined by Turkish and German scientists in the ancient city of Bergama revealed that people living in the region 2,000 years ago mainly ate carbohydrates and plants, while the wealthy consumed more meat.
The studies also revealed that people of the region suffered dental problems and sinus diseases the most.

In the excavations carried out in and around the ancient city of Bergama, eight new religious sites and many figurines, which date back 2,200 years and are believed to have been used to worship the Anatolian goddess Cybele, have been unearthed.

The German Archeology Institute, which works in the ancient city of Bergama, a site on the UNESCO World Heritage List, mapped the 12.5-square-kilometer area on a digital platform.
