Many Greeks would rather spend the weekend abroad than in the countryside
Flights abroad for the long weekends of Clean Monday and Independence Day on March 25 are showing increased occupancy rates of over 75%.
For those departing this weekend from Athens, the most popular destinations are Oslo, Bologna, Geneva, Amsterdam and Lisbon, while those departing from Thessaloniki mainly travel to Frankfurt, Berlin, Larnaca, Munich and Dusseldorf.
In 2023: Most Bulgarians Chose Italy As Their Preferred Destination For Air Travel
The travel organizing platform eSky.bg announced that Italy is the most preferred destination among Bulgarians for 2023. Nearly half of the travelers (44%) for a period of 2-3 days have chosen Italy for their vacation, with Rome, Milan, Venice, Bari, Bologna, Catania, and Naples being the most preferred destinations.

Serbia Confirms First Case of Coronavirus
As numbers of coronavirus cases rise throughout Europe, Serbia has confirmed its first - a 43-year-old male who has often been to Hungary.
Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar said the man was currently quarantined in hospital in Subotica, near the Hungarian border, where he had reported himself after feeling ill. His condition is not seen as alarming.

Aristotle University ranks world's 16th in classical studies
For a second time in three years Aristotle University of Thessaloniki's Department of Classical Studies was ranked 16th in its field by the influential QS World University Rankings.
Some 4,500 universities were evaluated in the annual publication, including some of the world's top institutions, such as Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard.

All political parties in the local assembly in Ulcinj have demanded an urgent meeting with the government after the Health Minister Kenan Hrapovic said that if cases start to occur, quarantine facilities will be opened at the former military base in Zoganje near Ulcinj and in the Danilovgrad and Niksic municipalities.

Slovenian cyclist Roglič wins Giro d'Emillia
The Giro dell'Emilia is held annually in Bologna, Italy. Since 2005, it has been organised as a second-tier event organised by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as part of the UCI Europe Tour.
Roglič won the 103rd edition of the race, a 207-km stage between Bologna and San Luca, finishing 15 seconds ahead Michael Woods of Canada and Sergio Higuita of Colombia.
