100 detained for issuing fake prescriptions across Turkey
A total of 100 suspects, including pharmacists, medics and nurses, were detained for issuing fake prescriptions on May 2 during operations across the country.

Expelled DPS Leader 'to Unveil New Political Party'
Lyutvi Mestan, the former head of predominantly ethnic Turk Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) party, is set to announce the formation of a new party in a matter of days, a local Bulgarian website reports.
Flights, ferries canceled in Istanbul due to snow storm
Heavy snowfall has severely affected transportation in Istanbul as flights and ferries were canceled and schools were closed by a snow storm that is expected to continue until late Jan. 19.
Turkish Airlines (THY) announced on Jan. 18 that 137 flights scheduled from Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport had been canceled due to the adverse weather conditions.
Underwater work begins in ancient basilica
Underwater archaeological work began on Dec. 4 in an ancient Roman-era basilica discovered at the beginning of last year under Lake ?znik in the northwestern province of Bursa.

'Chaos exists because the system is not presidential,' Turkish minister argues
Turkish Health Minister Mehmet Müezzino?lu has pointed to the lack of a presidential system as the cause of chaos in the country, during a speech he delivered at the northwestern province of Edirne.
Müezzino?lu took the stage at the Justice and Development Party?s (AKP) advisory council meeting and claimed the June 7 election constituted a warning to the AKP, but not a punishment.
