The White House has struggled to defuse the growing criticism of President Donald Trump's initial failure to explicitly condemn white supremacists for their role in the violent protest on Aug. 12 in Virginia, insisting that his condemnation included all such groups.

Over 30 people were injured and three died during the collisions of the far-right and anti-racism in the US city of Charlottesville, Virginia, the BTA reported.

A white nationalist rally erupted into deadly violence on Aug. 12 as a car plowed into a crowd while demonstrators and counter-protesters clashed, as President Donald Trump came under sharp criticism for his tepid response.

Supporters of the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan marched in Charlottesville, Virginia on July 8 to protest the planned removal of a statue of General Robert E. Lee, who oversaw Confederate forces in the U.S. Civil War.
