Chernihiv, Ukraine: At Least 10 Dead After Missile Strike by the Russians

A devastating Russian missile attack shook the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv on Wednesday, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming the lives of at least 10 residents. The assault, which occurred just after 09:00 a.m. local time, targeted a busy part of the city, causing three powerful explosions that struck a multi-story building.

UN condemns deadly Russian attack on Ukraine city

A Russian missile strike on Ukraine's northern city of Chernihiv killed seven people and wounded 148, the regional governor said Sunday, in what the UN denounced as a "heinous" attack.

The strike came during the Orthodox holiday of the Transfiguration of the Lord on Saturday, as some attended morning church services in the city.

An alert has been declared in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions, as well as in other regions across Ukraine. At the same time, a battle is being prepared for the Kherson region, and the population has already been told to flee.

Early this morning, explosions also resounded in the hometown of the Ukrainian president, Kryvyi Rih, and local residents were warned that "missiles are coming".
Also, air raid sirens sounded this morning in more than half of Ukraine's regions: in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Odesa regions.
