Bulgaria Air starts operating 10 new regular passenger flights to some of the most attractive cities in Europe and Asia in 2021. While other airlines report further flight cuts, the national air carrier will surprise its customers with new direct flights to Dubai, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Thessaloniki, Budapest, Kiev, as well as many other top destinations.

Slovenia officially takes over its pavilion at Dubai Expo

Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek symbolically took over on behalf of Slovenia the management of the country’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The minister said at the ceremony on Tuesday that “Slovenia will show know-how, innovation and energy at the Expo”.

Ministers call for more cooperation between Slovenia, UAE

Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek met Emirati Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber in Abud Dhabi on Monday as he started an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. The pair agreed that bilateral cooperation could improve and expressed support for such efforts, the Economy Ministry said.

Ljubljana – Slovenia is to take over the management of its pavilion at Expo Dubai next week on the sidelines of Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition is to help with Slovenia’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, said the minister Tuesday.

Büyükakçay wins first game at Australian Open qualifications

Çağla Büyükakçay, one of the three Turkish players competing in the 2021 Australian Open's qualifying stage, won her first game on Jan. 10 to advance to the second round.

Büyükakçay, world number 178, beat 15-year-old Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6,4-6,4 in Dubai.

She will next play Ana Konjuh of Croatia, who won 6-2,-67-6-4 against Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany.

3 Turks to compete in 2021 Australian Open

Three Turkish tennis players will compete in the 2021 Australian Open's qualifying stage with drawings for the first round in the men's and women's category held on Jan. 9.

Çağla Büyükakçay and Pemra Özgen will be on court to play in the first round in the women's competition.

Cem İlkel will appear in the men's qualifiers.

The qualifying phase will be held Jan. 10-13.

Tsitsipas' mentor opens new academy in Dubai

Patrick Mouratoglou, the French tennis expert who discovered and coached Greek tennis sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas, announced last month the opening of a Mouratoglou Tennis Center Jumeirah in Dubai.

In collaboration with the prestigious Jumeirah hotel group, the Mouratoglou Tennis Center opened its doors on December 15 marking the beginning of Mouratoglou's international expansion.
