Residents of Turkish Thracian province eye suing Bulgaria over floods: Minister

Residents in the northwestern Turkish province of Edirne are considering suing the Bulgarian government over floods triggered by dams in the neighboring country, Turkish Forestry and Waterworks Minister Veysel Ero?lu has said, expressing his support for such a move. 

Situation In Southern Bulgaria Slowly Returns To Normal After Floods

The situation in the regions along the rivers Tundzha and Maritsa in southern Bulgaria slowly returns to normal as the river waters are receding, reports the bTV national channel.

Some villages and towns, are still flooded or are in a state of disaster, while the authorities are dealing with the aftermath of the floods.

Turkey to Introduce Paid Disinfection System at Bulgaria’s Checkpoints

Turkish border authorities will introduce a disinfection system for vehicles at the border crossings with Bulgaria - Kapitan Andreevo, Kapikule, Hamzabeyli / Lesovo and Derekoy / Malko Tarnovo.

Vehicles entering Turkey from Bulgaria will pass through a special system for disinfecting, the governor of the border town of Edirne, Dursun Ali Sahin, announced at a press conference.

Hürrem sultan’s palace to be preserved

The palace where the wife of Süleyman the Magnificent, Hürrem Sultan, lived in Edirne has been under restoration since 2009, and is set to be opened to the public soon Edirne Palace, located next to the River Tunca in the western province of Edirne, is currently under restoration and will soon be opened to the public, along with its surrounding area.
