Croatia is due to hold a general election at some point in 2020, possibly in late autumn.

The European Commission and European Parliament will establish the so-called Conference on the Future of Europe, a political body aimed at engaging EU citizens to reform democracy in 2020-2022. It is expected to be up and running in the second half of the year.

Greek sweep at Robot Olympiad

The Greek delegation comprised of 10 teams at  2019 World Robot Olympiad (WRO), held in Gyor, Hungary (November 8-10) returned to Greece last week with four medals - three silver, one bronze - and three distinctions (fourth, seventh and ninth). 

Romania starts European Women's U-19 Handball Championship with win over Portugal

Romania defeated Portugal 28-26 (14-13) on Thursday in their first Group D match at the ongoing European Women's U-19 Handball Championship in Gyor, Hungary. The side coached by Dragos Dobrescu was led in the first half 9-6 (19'), but in the second half the tides turned and they took the lead 25-20 (54').

Romania wins bronze at European Athletics U18 Championships, girls' medley relay race

Romania won the bronze medal in the women's medley relay race (100m, 200m, 300m, 400m) at the European Athletics U18 Championships in Gyor, Hungary, on Sunday.

Bianca Toader, Vanessa Balaci, Maria Scrob and Adina Circiogel clocked in at 2:09.99, after Italy (2:07.46) and Czech Republic (2:09.41).
