Varoufakis, who showed up at the gathering in a show of solidarity, received a rock star’s reception by the gathered demonstrators.

US President Barack Obama will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on April 23 at Hannover, Germany, in order to help Greece, according to mignatiou.com. During their meeting, the main topics to be discussed will be the economic and refugee crisis that Greece is dealing with.

Turkey, Europe to swap first groups of migrants

Germany will take the first Syrian refugees subject to an EU-Turkey pact on April 4, with its ambassador noting that the small group's "resettlement" will serve as a "test" to determine deficiencies in the EU-Turkey readmission deal reached this month, as Greece readies to send its first batch of migrants to Turkey. 

Thomas Cook 'Adds 50 000 Airline Seats' to Bulgaria

Travel company Thomas Cook will add more than 50 000 airline seats to the airports of Varna and Burgas in 2016, Bulgaria's biggest Black Sea cities, media outlets report.

According to Greek English-language website Tornos News, there will be two flights a week between Burgas and Frankfurt and one connecting Burgas with Rostock, Leipzig and Berlin respectively.

Germany vs Netherlands Match in Hannover Called off over Security Fears

A soccer friendly between Germany and the Netherlands in Hannover was cancelled on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The match was cancelled due to "security reasons," AFP reported, citing police sources.

The soccer stadium, HDI Arena, was  evacuated.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other top officials were scheduled to attend the match.
