Police officers have launched a new wave of operations at the lodgings of the country's largest petrochemicals company, PETKİM, in the Aegean province of İzmir, as part of the ongoing investigation into the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which has been accused of orchestrating the failed coup attempt of July 15, detaining at least 13 suspects.

Police detained 13 suspects on Sept. 20 at the lodgings of Turkey's biggest petrochemicals company, PETKİM, in the Aliağa district of İzmir as part of the ongoing investigation into the Fetullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which has been accused of orchestrating the failed coup attempt of July 15.

A former judge, who was connected to Turkey?s biggest ever corruption case in December 2013, was arrested Sept. 15 after a second arrest warrant was issued in his name. 

A 32-year-old heavy construction equipment operator, who got trapped inside a tunnel construction site for a hydroelectric power plant (HES) in Turkey?s western province of Kütahya, was found dead May 19, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

Turkey is continuing to struggle with bad weather conditions, as wintry snow and rain again hit parts of the country.

Many regions in Turkey, including Istanbul, the eastern Marmara region, the Aegean region and the Black Sea region, were surprised by snowfall, which continued on April 9 after snowfall swept the country on the previous night.
