Attica: Smart benches monitor air pollution
Aiming to measure the impact of human activities on local air quality with greater precision, a novel air quality monitoring network featuring smart benches is being developed in Attica. This innovative initiative, known as Faircity, is a collaborative effort between the National Observatory of Athens and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Directing ‘Antigone’ behind Korydallos’ high prison walls
The journey from central Athens to Korydallos is a daily routine for Aikaterini Papageorgiou. As the director and facilitator at the Korydallos Prison Theater Workshop, she and 26 inmates are now preparing Sophocles' "Antigone," following last year's presentation of "The Persians." The performance is scheduled for June 11 and 12 in the prison courtyard.
New Athens metro stations to open in 2019
Three new stations will be added to Line 3 of the Athens metro, which now runs between Aghia Marina in western Athens and Doukisis Plakentias, northeast of the city center, by June 30, 2019.

The trial of ultranationalist party Golden Dawn, accused of constituting a criminal organization, is due to begin on April 20 amid continued concerns that the venue where it is scheduled to take place is unsuitable.
Greek anti-racists pledge 'watch' on neo-Nazi trial
Greek anti-racism groups on Thursday said they would offer daily coverage of the landmark trial of neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn this month to raise awareness of the group?s alleged crimes.
Entitled Golden Dawn Watch, the initiative will use accredited journalists and qualified lawyers to cover and provide analysis of the trial that opens on April 20.

Locals object to Golden Dawn MPs being tried at Korydallos
Local officials and activists in Korydallos, southeastern Athens, voiced objections on Tuesday to plans to hold the trial of Golden Dawn MPs and members at a special court within the local prison.
Korydallos Mayor Stavros Kasimatis and municipal councilors voted against the trial being held at the jail because of security fears.
Korydallos man suspected of killing his sister, her husband
Police were on Tuesday seeking a man believed to have shot and killed his sister and her husband at the apartment block where they lived in Korydallos, a suburb of Piraeus, following an argument over property ownership issues.
