Nine people, including an 11-year-old girl, were injured last night in a Russian drone attack on Kyiv. Debris from a destroyed drone ignited a fire in a multi-story residential building in the western part of the city, Kyiv's mayor, Vitaly Klitschko, announced on Telegram.

Overnight Russian strikes on Kyiv, Kharkiv, and President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown of Kryvyi Rih resulted in dozens of casualties, with both fatalities and injuries reported, as stated by Ukrainian agencies UNIAN and Ukrainska Pravda. Debris from drones ignited fires in various locations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday he hoped the West "heard" his warning about the danger of a direct war with NATO if it allowed Ukraine to use long-range weapons against Russia.

Putin made the initial threat in September after Britain and the United States mulled letting Kiev use long-range arms against Russian targets, warning this would put NATO "at war" with Moscow.

The leaders have made a call for a ceasefire in Gaza, BRICS countries, including Presidents of China’s Xi Jinping, Russia Vladimir Putin, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but, perhaps most importantly, they discussed an alternative, non-Western payment system.

NATO's newly appointed Secretary General, Mark Rutte, is visiting Kyiv today in a show of support for Ukraine, according to AFP. His trip to the Ukrainian capital comes just two days after assuming his position as head of the alliance.
