Škofja Loka Passion Play wins Maribor Theatre Festival
Maribor – The Škofja Loka Passion Play, a Jernej Lorenci-directed production of the early 18th century rhymed-verse parable of human salvation, won the main prize at the 57th Maribor Theatre Festival on Sunday, along with the award for best music.
Maribor Theatre Festival to be held in-person in June
Maribor – The 56th Maribor Theatre Festival will be held from 14 to 27 June instead of its usual slot in October, but it will be held fully in-person. Its artistic director Aleš Novak said that while many other festivals decided to go hybrid, they insisted on fully live events.
Stage scaffolding New Year tree warns about troubles in event industry
Ljubljana – Representatives of the Slovenian event industry are erecting a New Year tree in Ljubljana’s Congress Square made from stage scaffolding and lights in order to warn about the sector having ground to an almost complete halt in 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis, and about the financial troubles of its employees.
Shakespeare Festival in Serbia from June 19 to 25
BELGRADE - The first Shakespeare Festival in Serbia will take place in Cortanovci, near Indjija in the south of the province of Vojvodina, from June 19 to 25, and present the latest productions of Shakespeare's plays.
