Foreclosures: Prominent families and companies included in the new auction list
A wave of foreclosures is set to begin in early September, immediately after the August break. Notably, more than 11,000 electronic auctions of various categories are scheduled from this restart through the early months of 2025. The majority will involve real estate, ranging from houses, plots, and offices to industrial spaces, factories, hotels, and even helicopter hangars.

Residents of central Athens districts have long complained that bars and restaurants have taken over their sidewalks and the vehicles of visitors their parking spaces. As several of them told Kathimerini, the situation keeps getting worse.

Squaring the circle
People will most certainly love the revamped Omonia Square at the heart of Athens. Any comparison with what had been in its place over the past 15 years would, after all, be devastating. Sure, we must pay heed to the objections raised by architects, which are legitimate from an institutional point of view: An architecture tender should proceed a project of this magnitude.
