Nicosia tackling child poverty
The percentage of minors at or below the poverty line in Cyprus stood at 18.1% in 2022, equivalent to around 31,000 youngsters according to Eurostat data, the EU Commissioner for children's rights said last week in Nicosia.

Greek Energy Exchange Group signs MoU with Cyprus Stock Exchange
The heads of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Greek Energy Exchange Group (EnExGroup) signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki and Director of the President's Office Charalambos Charalambous on Thursday, at the Presidential Palace of Cyprus in Nicosia.
Remains of eight Greek soldiers to be repatriated from Cyprus
The remains of recently identified Greek soldiers were killed on duty in Cyprus from 1963 to 1974 have been returned to their families following their identification using DNA in some cases. Eight of the soldiers will be repatriated and buried in Greece.

Von der Leyen to unveil aid for Lebanon to stop refugee flows, says Cyprus
The European Union will offer economic aid to Lebanon when the European Commission and Cypriot presidents jointly visit Beirut on Thursday, a Cypriot official has said.
Cyprus has grown increasingly concerned at a sharp increase in the number of Syrian refugees making their way to the island. Lebanon, a mere 185 km away from Cyprus, hosts hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.
