Bansko, Bulgaria, has been recognized as one of the top travel destinations for 2025, ranking third in Lonely Planet's list of best travel spots. The city of Toulouse, France, takes the top spot, according to The Independent.

Number of blue-flagged beaches rises in Turkey
Turkey continues to rank third in the list of "countries with the most blue-flagged beaches" this year, with the number of blue-flagged beaches increasing from 519 to 531 currently.
Like in 2021, Spain topped the ranking, while Greece was runner-up this year. Italy and France followed Turkey in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Turkey brings back expats from Europe on eve of Ramadan
Turkey evacuated 337 citizens from the U.K. on April 20 on a special flight in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
At the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey decided to bring back nearly 25,000 citizens before the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
2,100-year-old goddess Kybele sculpture unearthed in Turkey's Black Sea
A 2,100-year-old marble mother goddess sculpture of Kybele has been unearthed during excavations in the Black Sea province of Ordu's Kurul Castle, one of the first archaeological digs in the region.
The 110-centimeter sculpture was found during excavations carried out by 25 archaeologists under the direction of Gazi University Archaeology Department Professor Süleyman Yücel.

Black Sea Castle set to become tourism spot
Excavations are set to resume at Ordu's 2,300-year-old Kurul Castle, the first scientific excavation field in the eastern Black Sea region, as the site will be transformed into a new tourism center which will "change Ordu's history."

Northern Turkish city enjoys free Wi-Fi access
The municipality of Ordu in Turkey's northern coastal province has been providing residents with free Wi-Fi access for the past month, without any limit on data usage.
In remarks made to Anadolu Agency on Nov. 11, Ordu Metropolitan Mayor Enver Y?lmaz said the municipality put into service the largest free internet access network in Turkey.

8 dead, 71 injured in multiple crashes ahead of Ramadan holiday
Eight people have died and 71 others were injured in multiple bus crashes across the country ahead of the holiday marking the end of Ramadan, which officially starts on July 16.
Seven people were killed and 39 others were injured when a passenger bus turned over and slid off the road due to heavy rain around 4:15 a.m. on July 15 near a tunnel in the northern province of Bolu.
