Excavation season begins in the ancient city of Hattusha
Archaeological excavations at the 8,000-year-old ancient city of Hattusha in the Boğazkale district of Çorum, which started 118 years ago, are continuing this year with the participation of academics from various disciplines.
E-commerce volume in Türkiye more than doubled last year
The e-commerce volume in Türkiye increased more than 115 percent last year from 2022 to reach 1.85 trillion Turkish Liras ($77.9 billion), according to a report by the Trade Industry.
The ministry forecasts that the e-commerce volume will hit 3.4 trillion liras and the number of transactions will reach 6.67 billion in 2024.
Rare Hittite seal seized in Çorum
A 3,600-year-old Hittite-era seal has been found in a box during a police operation held in the Central Anatolian province of Çorum. The seal was one of two of its kind in the world.
Teams from the anti-smuggling and organized crime branch were ordered to carry out an operation in pursuit of a man who would transport historical artifacts from Ankara to Çorum.

Turkish police detained 25 suspects said to be involved in fraud connected to a 2010 nationwide civil service recruitment exam during an operation launched early April 20.
The Ankara public prosecutor's office ordered the detention of 78 suspects in this second wave of arrests in 21 provinces including Ankara, Malatya, Isparta, Corum and Bitlis.
