Japan will halt the use of 1.63 million doses of Moderna's COVID vaccine after reports of contamination in several vials, drugmaker Takeda and the health ministry said on Aug. 26.

Romania's exports to Japan increased by 62% in November 2020 y-o-y thanks to the European Union-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which entered into force on February 1, 2019, Chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) Mihai Daraban said at a meeting with Director General of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Romania Keisuke Mizuno.
Turkish court jails 3 in ex-Nissan CEO escape case
A Turkish court on Feb. 24 handed down jail terms to three people who were accused of aiding former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn's escape from Japan to Lebanon via an airport in Istanbul.
A private cargo company executive and two pilots, who were charged with "migrant smuggling", got four years and two months in prison each.

Turkish pilots, official face 12 years jail for Ghosn flight
Turkish prosecutors on Jan. 20 sought the maximum possible 12 years in prison each for a Turkish private airline official and two pilots accused of smuggling the former Nissan Motor Co. chairman out of Japan, Turkey's state news agency reported.
