Bulgarian Census 2021: Last day for Electronic Counting
Last day you can count electronically. The deadline expires today at midnight.
Then the only way to enter the statistics is through a counter. The deadline for this is extended to 20.00 on October 10. The National Statistical Institute reminds about the advantages of filling in the data electronically.
Bulgaria: State of Emergency in Rhodopean Village over Manganese in Drinking Water
Mayor of Rodopi Municipality Pavel Mihaylov declared a state of emergency due to the high levels of manganese in the drinking water in the village of Brestovitsa, BNR reported. The values of the chemical element in the water are at times above the permissible - with an authorised quantity of 50 mg/l, the manganese quantities in drinking water are more than 1,000 mg/l.
100 People are Fighting the Wildfire in Southern Bulgaria
The wildfire near villages of Bryagovo, Rodopi, and Lyubenovo in the south Bulgarian district of Haskovo, engulfed nearly 8,000 decares of land, half of it with deciduous forest.
Some 100 people, including firefighters, forest officials, and military, are taking part in the efforts to extinguish the fire.
Minority party eyes alliances to make way into Parliament
Bolstered by a strong performance in last month's European Parliament elections, the Party of Equality, Peace and Friendship (KIEF), which represents the interests of Greece's Muslim minority in Western Thrace, is looking for electoral alliances that would boost its chances of parliamentary representation after the July 7 vote.
Missing British woman found dead, mauled by animals
Rescue workers on Saturday discovered the body of a 64-year-old British woman who had been missing since Thursday in the area of Maroneia, in the northern prefecture of Rodopi, which appeared to have been savaged by animals.
According to reports, the woman had telephoned relatives in London on Thursday afternoon, saying that she had been bitten by a stray dog.
Four Cases of Measles Registered During the Weekend in Plovdiv
Four new cases of measles were registered during the past weekend in Plovdiv, Dr Monika Troyancheva from Plovdiv Regional Health Inspection (RHI) told Radio FOCUS - Plovdiv. There are a total of 65 cases registered so far.
"Their number is updated every day, as not all of them are proved for sure," Dr Troyancheva explained.
