Turkey on July 20 "strongly condemned" the "treacherous" terror attack in Baghdad that left at least 30 people dead and 60 injured.

ISIL claimed responsibility early on July 20 for a suicide bombing that ripped through a busy market in the Iraqi capital ahead of Eid holiday celebrations, killing nearly 30 people, according to medical sources.

Four people were killed and six others wounded in two separate attacks in Iraq, authorities said early on Feb. 24.

In a statement, police said unknown attackers killed a traffic officer as well as a civilian in eastern Baghdad province.

A civil servant working for the Education Ministry was killed in Sadr City in the capital Baghdad by armed assailants riding a motorbike.

Protesters began gathering in Baghdad's Sadr City district late on Oct. 7 after overnight clashes with security forces spread to the vast, poor swath of the Iraqi capital for the first time killing 15 people.

Two suicide bomb attacks in separate market places in Baghdad claimed the lives of at least 19 people yesterday.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for a suicide car bomb attack that killed at least 32 people on Jan. 2 in Baghdad.

The jihadist organization took responsibility for the blast in Sadr City via its propaganda agency Amaq, claiming the "martyrdom operation" had killed around 40 people.

In Iraq, the death toll from devastating back-to-back market bombings carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group the previous day in eastern Baghdad climbed to 73 on Feb. 29, officials said.

Several of the critically wounded died overnight while 112 people remain in hospital, two police officials said.

Bombings claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group killed at least 24 people in a Shiite area of Baghdad on Feb. 28, the deadliest attacks to hit the Iraqi capital this year.

The Iranian intelligence service stepped in for the release of Turkish workers kidnapped in Iraq. The Turkish National Intelligence Service (M?T) had contacted Tehran and prominent Shiite leaders with leverage on Shiite militias for help in the workers' case.

Sixteen Turkish workers who were held captive by Shiite militias earlier this month in the Iraqi capital Baghdad have arrived in the Turkish capital late Sept. 30 after their release earlier in the day.
