BRICS countries challenge IMF, World Bank
The long awaited event has happened.
Five developing countries, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, also called BRICS have challenged the IMF and World Bank.
At the annual summit at Brazilâs Fortaleza city, the BRICS countries stated they have founded a multilateral development bank.

UN: Two-thirds of world will live in urban areas by 2050
A new United Nations report says that the world population is increasingly urban with more than half living in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase to 66 percent by 2050 More than half of the worldâs seven billion people live in urban areas, with the top âmega citiesâ - with more than 10 million inhabitants - being Tokyo, Delhi, Shanghai, Mexico City and Sao Paulo
More growth in tourism from China

Europe's Gas Supplies 'Depend on Ukraine' - Russian PM
It is the stable situation in Ukraine that the security of Europe's gas deliveries will depend on, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday.
“If the Ukrainian market is stable and if Ukrainians fulfill all of their obligations, Europe will receive what it is entitled to in full,” Medvedev told Bloomberg TV.
Spanovic sets national record in Shanghai
SHANGHAI - Serbia's best female athlete Ivana Spanovic has set a new national outdoor record at the second meet of the Diamond League in Shanghai with her long jump of 6.85 m.
That is three centimeters more than her previous record that she established at the European championships in Mocow last year.

Russia, China Set for 'USD 400 B' Gas Supplies Contract
Russian and Chinese officials are due to strike a deal on Tuesday allowing China to receive Russian gas worth USD 400 B over the next 30 years, a Russian daily reports.
New direct flights to New York’s JFK and Shanghai

The number of direct flights Athens is on the rise, with Delta Airlines scheduled to start its daily summer service linking the Greek capital with New Yorks JFK tomorrow.
Meanwhile the Greek Tourism Ministry has announced that the first direct flights between Athens and Shanghai will take off on June 15.

Shanghai puppet theatre wins Golden Spark Grand Prix
KRAGUJEVAC - Miracle Boy, a play performed by China's Shanghai Puppet Theatre, won the Golden Spark Grand Prix for best play at the 16th International puppet theatre festival in Kragujevac.
The second prize went to the play Dwarf Long Nose by the Sliven State Puppet Theatre (Bulgaria), while Straw Lark by the Moscow Small Puppet Theatre (Russia) won the third prize.

Bulgaria's Food Producers to Take Part in Trade Show in Shanghai
Bulgarian producers will take part in the International Food and Beverage Trade Show SIAL China 2014 in Shanghai in the period 13 - 15 May 2014.
For the first time, 17 Bulgarian companies will participate in the prestigious event under the EU project for the International Promotion of Bulgarian companies, the SME Promotion Agency informed.
