Byzantine church’s base ground undergoing restoration
A 1,550-year-old former Byzantine church's base ground, which has been unearthed in the ancient city of Stratonikeia in the southwestern province of Muğla, is being renovated together with the colored marble pieces found during the works.
Included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2015, the ancient city of Stratonikeia was home to many civilizations.
Mythological masks unearthed in ancient theater of Strakonikeia
Archaeological excavations carried out in the 3,000-year-old ancient city of Strakonikeia, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List, have revealed 10 more masks adorning the stone blocks that are believed to date back 2,200 years.
Republic Monument in ancient city
The monument of the 10th anniversary of the Republic, which has been unearthed during the excavations in the ancient city of Stratonikeia, a site included in the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List, is being exhibited in the village square after 87 years.
